One should not rush a holiday in Greece. You need to look and listen very carefully as its culture and its rhythms are complex. Take your time, experience everything and revel in the wonders of a spectacular and interesting country.
With an almost endless coastline and thousands of islands , a holiday in Greece offers a wonderful mix of cultural learning and soul-satisfying relaxation. Whilst most visitors are drawn to Greece's famous antiquities, few can resist homing in on sun, sand and fun. Whatever your plans for Greece, make sure you have time to visit one or more of the fabulous Greek Islands. Of course, the question is...... 'which one?', since, according to the Greek Ministry of Tourism, the country includes over 6, 0000 islands and over 16,000km of coastline, although only 227 of the islands are inhabited. Everywhere you go in the islands there will be opportunities for sunbathing, swimming, snorkeling, waterskiing, windsurfing and sailing.

Driving tips/rules.
Speed Limits.... Use these as a guide, but always obey the posted limits, which may vary.
Urban areas: 30 mph/50 kmh
Outside cities: 68 mph/110 kph
Freeways/Expressways: 75 mph/120 kph
Kids under 10 can't sit in the front seat
Fines are expensive....
Parking: Forbidden (though it may not be marked) within 9 feet of a fire hydrant, 15 feet of an intersection, or 45 feet from a bus stop.
Driving in the Middle of the Road.... This is very common, especially on narrow roads, and is not necessarily a bad idea if you are expecting to have to avoid a sudden obstruction but PLEASE be very careful.
The roads in Greece vary in their quality and state of repair. To navigate to the most spectacular and remote locations you might have to make your way through very narrow roads that turn into gravel for large stretches so leave extra time when calculating timing..
Greece has a very high accident rate compared to other European countries and much caution is advised. Be extra careful when you pass slower vehicles and have to cross over to the opposite direction lane. Another dangerous move in Greece is the left turn on any road, only because the person behind you may not be paying attention. but, hey, what's life without a little adventure eh??
