Visas:
Depending on where you’re coming from and the length of your stay (30 – 90 days) you may need a visa, Check with the Embassy or consulate of the European country you wish to visit. Some countries in Europe have banded together to make travel between them easier, they are known as the Schengen countries after the agreement they signed (The Schengen Agreement).

These countries are:
Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Hungary, Germany, Greece, Holland, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, and Sweden. It may be possible for you to get one ‘Schengen’ visa that will allow you to visit the other countries without obtaining further visas but you should check with the appropriate embassies and Consulates.

If you want to bring your pet with you on your travel in Europe it is possible but needs much planning to accomplish it without constant problems. Be sure you research well any regulations about ‘Pet Passports’, electronic tagging, vaccinations, leash laws and clean up regulations before you make the final decision.

Driving your hire car in Europe

Whichever country you pick up your hire car in you can usually drive into other countries provided you have checked with the rental company first as there may be a 'cross border' fee. Please do not take the car across a border without checking first because if you do and you have an accident or the car is stolen, your insurance will be void and you will be liable for the entire cost of either repairs to the vehicle or replacement of the hire car. You will also be liable for any repairs to any other vehicle involved if you have an accident!
